  1. Hi, nice work here. If possible, can you do a memory lane of all the perfect scores that players have been awarded by the various publications, over the years. That is, all instances of 10/10 or 5/5 being awarded to the players. Would really appreciate it, thanks.

  3. Hello Estel, where 5 is maximum (in Scandinavian newspapers for example) the highest mark is used quite often, but those newspapers are NOT included in my stats.

Kicker marks are "inverted": 1 counts as 9, 2 as 8, 3 as 7 etc. The most reliable sources are Italian, since they seem to have the highest grade of uniformity in the ratings. That's why Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere della Sera, La Stampa, La Repubblica, Guerin Sportivo etc are the "bulk" in the averages mentioned in this blog.

Spanish marks count as follow: in El Mundo Deportivo and As marks, 1=5, 2=6, 3=7 etc. Marca marks: 0=5, 1=6, 2=7 etc.

France Football al w a y s give the mark 0 to a sent-off player, but that figure is NOT included in the average.
